We had some great days in Hienghene, staying at Koulnoué Village. Hienghene is one o the best places to find some nice forests : the natural reserve of Mount Panie’ is sure fantastic, but is endangered and was not allowed to enter in the reserve. We could see it from the Ouaieme river. You need a ferry boat to cross the river, because there is no bridge !!

The region is rich of streams , rivers and waterfalls. Sometimes very dry, sometimes, near the water is always very green.

Around Hinghene there are lot of forests, but many are cut and burnt by locals. The view is fantastic.
